Maurice Sendak, author and illustrator of the famous children's book "Where the Wild Things Are," a controversial in its day but much loved story of a young rebellious boy, who is sent to his room due to bad behaviour and then invents an imaginary world where he becomes the king of the wild creatures by staring them down. The wild creatures, based on Sendak's relatives , and originally supposed to be wild horses, and the boys behaviour were frowned upon, and even banned, for encouraging naughty and wild behaviour. Luckily the ban was lifted and everyone can enjoy the illustrations and wonderful tale
